چکیده

The study combines available data on species distribution in eastern Indochina to investigate the phylogeographical genetic and morphological diversity of tree rats ( Chiromyscus , Rodentia, Muridae) specify their natural ranges. We examined over its range, based recent molecular for mitochondrial Cyt b COI ) nuclear IRBP RAG1 GHR genes. presents most complete up-to-date phylogeography genus Indochina. As revealed by genes, C. langbianis splits into at least four coherent geographically-distributed clades, whereas thomasi chiropus form two distinctive clades each. show significant inconsistency shows same segregation pattern as can be traced markers. Northern Southern phylogroups appear distributed sympatrically with northern parts discovered are geographically subdivided divergent enough suspect independent subspecies within . However, due insufficiency obvious traits, a formal description is not carried out here. processes fauna formation, patterns, dispersion routes possible history discussed.

Karyotypes of four rats (Rodentia: Muridae) from Sulawesi (Celebes), Indonesia.

Karyotypes and information pertinent to genetic mapping of small mammals in remote areas of Southeast Asia are practically nonexistent. The diverse island complex of the Indo-Australian archipelago offers a unique situation to study the interrelationships of the taxonomically confused order Rodentia. Yosida (1969, 1971, 1973) reported karyotypes of two species of rodents from Makassar, located ...

Phylogenetic relationships in the Niviventer-Chiromyscus complex (Rodentia, Muridae) inferred from molecular data, with description of a new species

Based on molecular data for mitochondrial (Cyt b, COI) and nuclear (IRBP, GHR) genes, and morphological examinations of museum specimens, we examined diversity, species boundaries, and relationships within and between the murine genera Chiromyscus and Niviventer. Phylogenetic patterns recovered demonstrate that Niviventer sensu lato is not monophyletic but instead includes Chiromyscuschiropus, ...

(Rodentia: Muridae) from Peninsular Malaysia

There are 25 species of rats and mice (familly Muridae) in peninsular Malaysia (Medway 1978). Of these the karyotypes of 19 species have been described (Yong 1968, 1969 and 1973). The chromosomes of the other 6 species found in this country have, however, not been reported. Of these 6 species, the chromosomes of Hapalomys and Pithecheir have also not been reported from other countries. The pres...

Mus Terricolor (rodentia, Muridae) Complex: Chromosomal Polymorphism

Mus terricolor chromosomal types I, II, III from different places of India were cytogenetically analyzed. Chromosome types II and III showed polymorphic pericentric inversions of autosomes 2 and 5 present in homozygous or heterozygous condition in the populations. Moreover, besides fixed heterochromatic arms on autosomes 1, 3, and 6; the autosome 8 in terricolor type III showed a large heteroch...

Phylogeography and molecular systematics of the Peromyscus aztecus species group (Rodentia: Muridae) inferred using parsimony and likelihood.

Mice of the Peromyscus aztecus species group occur at mid to high elevations in several mountain ranges in the highlands of Middle America (Mexico and Central America), a region of high endemicity. We examined the biogeography of this group by conducting phylogenetic analyses of 668 bp of the mitochondrial cytochrome b (cyt b) gene. Phylogenetic analyses under both parsimony and likelihood fram...
